Nigerian airline Arik Air normalized its flights to Monrovia, Liberia, from Oct. 5. The service was initially suspended in 2014 due to the Ebola outbreak in the West African country. Chemicals company Sika will open concrete admixture and mortar production facilities in Nigeria and the Ivory Coast. In addition, it will also establish new subsidiaries in Ethiopia and Tanzania as a part of its ongoing expansion throughout Africa. Construction began on Tuesday for a $962 million four-year project in the Ivory Coast. The project will build a second container terminal as well as widen the part of the canal leading to the main port in Ivory Coast's capital city, Abidjan, one of the most active ports in sub-Saharan Africa.
