Leonard Stiegeler, former general manager for Nigeria and head of West Africa operations for leading diversified digital media company Ringier in Africa, was recently appointed to general manager.
The move is part of Ringier's international market restructuring program, which began Jan. 1.
"With the high speed and growth of our digital business in Africa and Asia, we were in need of stronger support structures to facilitate further aggressive scaling of our business," a Ringier official said.
Other changes within Ringier include Head of New Business Implementation Florent de Rocca-Serra being promoted to general manager of Ringier Asia Pacific, Jessica List of the Business Development team becoming the company's African chief financial officer and Head of Marketing in International Markets
Jessica Stiles moving up to chief marketing officer for Africa and Asia.
All of the new officials will report to Ringier CEO for Asia and Africa Robin Lingg who will also serve as a member of the company's Group Executive Board.
The new general manager for Ringier Nigeria will be Mark Slade; he previously served as the company's head of the digital marketing agency RDM in Nigeria. Teams have also been put in place to focus on Ringier's classifieds, content, e-commerce and digital marketing areas.
“With the high speed and growth of our digital business in Africa and Asia, we were in need of stronger support structures to facilitate further aggressive scaling of our business," Lingg said. "Through this evolution of the organization I’m convinced we’ll be able to further boost and expand our leading market positions in classifieds, content, e-commerce and digital marketing across all our markets. We have a proven and highly experienced team of which I’m very happy to see so much internally promoted leadership emerge."
