His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Mrs. Tuma Adama Gento Kamara as a member of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission. The Secretary to the President, Dr. Emmanuel Gaima, highlighted that the appointment is in line with section 140(1)(d) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991, which mandates the nomination of a practicing Counsel with at least ten years of experience by the Sierra Leone Bar Association to the Commission.

In her remarks, Mrs. Gento Kamara expressed gratitude and a sense of duty, acknowledging the trust placed in her and her commitment to justice. She stated, “Justice is not merely a system of laws and institutions but a living, breathing force that must be upheld by those who believe in its power." She also pledged to ensure judicial appointments are merit-based and that legal processes are transparent, ensuring equal access to justice for all citizens.

President Julius Maada Bio congratulated Mrs. Kamara and emphasized the significance of her responsibilities. He remarked, “The importance of the judiciary and justice cannot be overemphasized...it is the foundation that keeps society functioning in an orderly manner," emphasizing the need for a fair court system.
