ECOWAS president meets ambassadors from Cuba, Angola, and Ethiopia

The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, met with ambassadors from Cuba, Angola, and Ethiopia at the Commission Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. The meetings took place on March 4, 2025.

Ambassador Miriam Morales Palmero of Cuba engaged in discussions about cooperation in the health sector and potential partnerships with the West African Health Organisation (WAHO).

Angola's Ambassador José Bamoquina Zau talked about the upcoming US-Africa Business Summit set to occur in Luanda. This summit is expected to serve as a significant platform for economic exchanges and trade opportunities.

Ethiopia's newly appointed Ambassador Legesse Geremew Haile expressed his eagerness to work closely with ECOWAS during his meeting with President Touray.

President Touray reassured all envoys of ECOWAS's dedication to strengthening collaborations with its partners. He emphasized their commitment "to achieve the vision of the founding fathers of an integrated region with a common market, free trade and free movement of goods and persons."
