President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has officially launched the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) along with the 15 County Development Agendas (CDAs) in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. This event is considered a pivotal moment in Liberia's development efforts.
The ARREST Agenda is Liberia's fourth post-conflict National Development Plan and aims to advance the country's progress toward the Liberia 2030 Vision. It builds on past initiatives like the Poverty Reduction Strategy and the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
In his address, President Boakai highlighted that the AAID embodies a collective vision for an inclusive and prosperous Liberia. “This plan is more than just a document. It is a shared commitment to overcoming poverty, reducing inequality, and unlocking the full potential of every Liberian,” he stated.
The development of the AAID and CDAs involved extensive consultations with various stakeholders including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, individuals with disabilities, and members of the diaspora. These frameworks aim to tackle challenges such as unemployment and limited access to education and healthcare by prioritizing inclusivity, sustainability, governance, and equality.
Key areas of focus within the ARREST Agenda include modernizing infrastructure, fostering good governance, revitalizing the economy, and empowering citizens through expanded education and healthcare opportunities.
President Boakai called for collective action from government institutions, civil society, and international partners to align their efforts with the agenda's goals. The implementation will be overseen by a National Steering Committee chaired by President Boakai himself.
“This is our moment to transform Liberia. Together, we will turn this vision into reality and create a nation where no one is left behind,” he affirmed.
The ARREST Agenda aligns with global frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Africa’s Agenda 2063, and ECOWAS Vision 2050 to ensure that Liberia remains engaged in regional and global development efforts.
As this journey begins, President Boakai urged citizens to unite under the commitment to THINK LIBERIA, LOVE LIBERIA, AND BUILD A GREAT LIBERIA.
The ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (2025-2029) aims at addressing Liberia’s development challenges while creating sustainable growth opportunities. It reflects diverse Liberian voices aiming for inclusive progress nationwide.
