Boakai announces new government appointments across key agencies

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has announced new nominations and appointments for several government positions in Liberia. These changes impact the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), and the National Commission on Arms (NCA).

In the LDEA, Mr. Sebastian Farr has been named Deputy Director for Operations, while Mr. Gwee K. Porkpah takes on the role of Deputy Director for Administration.

For the Interim Management Team of the LEC, Mr. Thomas Z. Gonkerwon is appointed as Interim Managing Director. Joining him are Mr. Eric Augustine Fredericks as Interim Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Mr. Emile Karnga as Interim Deputy Managing Director for Operations, and Mr. I. Dele Shobayo as Interim Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services.

The Board of the NCA will include a variety of representatives from different sectors:

- A representative from the National Security Advisor will serve as Chair.
- Members include individuals from organizations such as the National Security Agency (NSA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by Dr. Ibrahim Nyei, Executive Protection Services with Hon. Sam Gaye, Ministry of Justice with Cllr. Augustine C. Fayiah, Liberia National Police (LNP) represented by ACP Christopher P.S. Roberts, and others from various ministries including Defense and Finance & Development Planning.
- Additional members come from entities like Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Ministry of Internal Affairs with Mr. James K Yolei, Ministry of Education, Forestry Development Authority with Hon Rudolph J Merab Sr., Inter-Religious Council represented by Rev Christopher W Toe and Alhaji A.F Kuku Reeves Sr., Coalition of Civil Society including Women's organization WONGOSOL and youth group led by Mr Raphel R Weah.
- The private sector is also represented by Cllr Supu H.W Cole Sr from Orange Liberia and Mr Rancy Weah from Boutros Security Services along with a member from Liberia Chamber of Commerce.

These appointments are pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate where necessary.

President Boakai emphasized to those appointed that they should "continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to country."
