Nigerian Breweries Plc, a leading brewing company in Nigeria, has announced significant changes to its board of directors. Asue Ighodalo, the current Chairman, will resign from his position effective December 31, 2023. This decision was disclosed during a notification to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), signed by Uaboi Agbebaku, the Company Secretary/Legal Director, following a Board Meeting on December 7, 2023.
Ighodalo's resignation is motivated by his intention to pursue public service. He expressed mixed emotions about leaving the board but emphasized his pride in having been part of a robust organization that navigates Nigeria’s dynamic business environment. "It is with heartfelt regret that I announce my resignation as Chairman of the Board of Nigerian Breweries Plc effective December 31, 2023," he stated.
Ndidi O. Nwuneli will also step down as an Independent Non-Executive Director after completing her tenure on December 31, 2023. She has served on the board for nine years.
