Sierra Leone's president celebrates New Year's Day Mass in hometown

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio participated in the New Year’s Day Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tihun, Sierra Leone. This event is an annual tradition for President Bio, reflecting his connection to his hometown and his family's commitment to community engagement.

During the Mass, President Bio delivered a New Year’s address expressing gratitude to God for life and blessings received by Sierra Leone. He urged the Christian community to remain faithful and appreciative of past achievements while looking forward to a promising 2025.

President Bio spoke about his government's accomplishments, noting progress in peace, stability, and national cohesion. He reiterated support for the church and local community: “We are grateful for the progress we have made and pray for God’s continued guidance and protection as we strive for a prosperous Sierra Leone,” he stated, ending with wishes for a happy New Year.

The Mass highlighted themes of unity, gratitude, and hope for the future.
