President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., of Liberia has nominated Anthony Suoh as the new Director General of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA). This nomination awaits confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

In a concurrent move, President Boakai has dismissed Colonel Abraham Kromah, Hassan Fadiga, and Gbawou Kowou from their roles as Director General, Deputy Director General for Operations, and Deputy Director General for Administration at the LDEA. This action follows a report from the Ministry of Justice concerning an investigation into incidents that occurred at the LDEA headquarters on June 3, 2024, which led to their suspension.

President Boakai stated that "the acts of disorder and chaos that took place at the headquarters of the LDEA were unacceptable." He noted that such behavior undermines public peace and weakens government efforts in fighting illicit drugs.

The President urged all government appointees to maintain high standards of diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in serving the nation.
