President Boakai accepts resignation from LDEA OIC; appoints acting director

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. of Liberia has accepted the resignation of Mr. Christopher S. Peters, Sr., who served as Officer-In-Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA). The resignation is effective immediately.

In his letter of resignation, Mr. Peters expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve both the nation and the LDEA. President Boakai thanked Mr. Peters for his service, noting his leadership in initiatives such as seizing illicit drugs valued at US$4 million and securing long-term prison sentences for drug traffickers through Liberian courts.

President Boakai acknowledged Mr. Peters' contributions to Liberia's fight against drugs and wished him success in future endeavors.

Following this development, President Boakai has appointed Mr. Anthony Souh as Acting Director General of the LDEA. The President expressed full confidence that Mr. Souh will perform his new role with commitment, loyalty, and dedication.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to combatting drug-related issues and enhancing the operational capabilities of the LDEA.
