President Boakai travels to Ghana for Regional Maritime University commencement

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., departs for Accra, Ghana today, Friday, June 28, 2024. The purpose of the visit is to attend the commencement ceremony of the Regional Maritime University scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024. President Boakai is set to deliver the commencement address as the Guest of Honor.

The official delegation accompanying President Boakai includes Honorable N. Oswald Tweh, Minister of Justice; Honorable Sirleaf Tyler, Minister of Transport; Honorable Morley Kamara, Economic Advisor to the President; Honorable Neto Z. Lighe, Commissioner General of the Liberia Maritime Authority; and Honorable Jerolinmek M. Piah, Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism.

The President will also be accompanied by his support staff including Chief of Protocol and assistants in communications and media, security personnel, and aides for personal matters. The delegation is expected to return to Liberia on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

During President Boakai's absence from Liberia, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Chief of Staff, Honorable Sylvester M. Grigsby will act in consultation with the President via telephone communication.
