African Union official tries to narrow communication gap between member states

The Directorate of Information and Communication (DIC) of the African Union has made it his primary goal to narrow the communication gap between African citizens and the Continental Organization as part of the implementation of the AU Communication, Advocacy and Marketing Strategy 2014-17. 

To achieve this, a workshop will be held in Freetown Sierra Leone Monday and Tuesday to spread information about activities of the Union among the people at a national level.

Organized by the DIC and the African Union Commission, the workshop’s primary goal is to consolidate good working relationships between the people responsible for communication in the embassies of A.U. member states. It will also serve to bring the person responsible for communication from A.U. member state' embassies, which are based in Ethiopia, together in an effort to discuss ideas about how to maximize the use of existing communication tools and channels to properly communicate the vision, missions, strategic planning and activities of the union. The meeting will also ensure the promotion of A.U. activities on national, regional and continental levels.

The workshop will also focus on the enhancement of cooperation between the embassies and the A.U. for the promotion continental organization.
