Nigerian e-commerce company Konga recently introduced a payment solution to make it easier for consumers to conduct transactions.
Part of its KongaPay platform, the Me-Commerce solution enables individuals to take a photo of any item they wish to sell and create a payment QR code that can be shared on social media websites such as Facebook and Instagram.
"We remain committed to innovation in the African e-commerce space and will continue to create solutions and technology that will provide pioneering best-in-class financial solutions and the launch of Me-commerce via KongaPay is a result of this commitment," Konga CEO Shola Adekoya said.
Among the features of KongaPay for the Nigerian market are the ability to pay with a phone number and four digit PIN as every phone is a point of sale; instant refunds; the ability to send money to any Nigerian phone number without having to have an account number; offline payments by showing one's QR code at participating merchant stores; and the ability to set up payment subscriptions and recurring payments. Additionally, the KongaPay platform includes iOS, Android and web SDKs that can be customized.
Konga has roughly 30,000 registered merchants and more than 200,000 items available for sale across a variety of categories including clothing, electronics, home and kitchen, and toys.
