ITC Global, a satellite communications provider, recently acquired numerous offshore communications contracts offshore in Angola, Equatorial Guinea and Congo.
The company specializes in satellite communications for remote or harsh conditions, and in the new contracts, it has been awarded five FPSO vessels, owned by the European oil and gas company Total.
On March 7, ITC announced that it was also awarded a $6.5 million contract, where the company will provide its services to two vessels off the coast of Western Africa. Specifically, it will be working in ultra-deepwater, which is considered to be the most important offshore project in existence today.
Ultra-deepwater contracts strive to develop oil deposits in depths of 4,600 to 6,200 feet.
The company contracting the service is Salpem, which is a part of the Kaombo Field Development Project, working offshore in Angola. Salpem is a recognized leader in drilling services, the construction of pipelines as well as projects within the oil and gas market.
The FPSOs recently awarded will be equipped with two C-band stabilized antenna systems, which will ensure a high data rate for the vessels.
