At this year's Next Einstein Forum's Global Gathering, Africa made a statement about the presence of scientifically and mathematically minded individuals across the continent.
This was the first global science forum to be hosted in Africa and spanned the course of three days.
The conference aimed to discuss the importance of STEM education, covering the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The forum also featured speakers who shared their insights on how to take these policies and concepts to the next step of implementation.
With the need for bright and talented scientists, as well as experts in the aforementioned fields, the potential that Africa has for introducing such individuals is highly valuable.
President, Chairman and CEO of the forum Thierry Zomahoun spoke about the importance of the event and the future steps taken.
"Taking our African scientists out of the shadows and giving them the exposure on a global level, we’re creating a youth-driven pan-African scientific community that must be sustained and expanded starting with our NEF Fellows and Ambassadors," Zomahoun said.
The forum, which ended Thursday, is dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals who exhibit interest and talent in the STEM areas and want to enter the global scene in those fields.
