L'Occitane, a France-based beauty company that has backed women's leadership programs in West Africa for the last two decades, recently donated $120,000 to the Dress for Success initiative.
Dress for Success assists women in attaining professional goals. L'Occitane Director Maddie Smith traveled to New York to present the Dress for Success donation to the program's CEO, Joi Gordon.
"Presenting our donation to Dress for Success was an extremely emotional and gratifying experience," Smith said. "Philanthropy is at the heart of everything L'Occitane stands for, and knowing our funds will make a difference in the lives of so many women is deeply meaningful and inspiring."
Dress for Success programs are available on local and global levels, helping women find the right clothes for job interviews.
"We are grateful to L'Occitane for choosing to support our women and for also providing an easy, fun way for their customers to get involved this holiday season as well," Gordon said.
Dress for Success, an international non-profit, has assisted more than 850,000 women -- many of them in West Africa - with career-related services. The organization was launched in 1997 and helps women with clothing choices, mock interviews and money management programs in 150 cities throughout 20 nations.
