More than thirty participants from Nigeria's Federal Ministries of Energy, Health, Education, Budget, and agencies in the energy sector convened on February 20, 2025, in Abuja. The meeting was organized by ECOWAS as part of the Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP).

The gathering aimed to present feasibility study results for electrifying 15 health centers and schools in the states of FCT, Nasarawa, and Niger using solar photovoltaic technology. ROGEAP also showcased its business models for sustainable financing and implementation strategies.

ROGEAP receives joint funding from the World Bank, the Clean Technology Fund, and the Government of the Netherlands through its Directorate General for International Cooperation.

An awareness-raising forum was previously held on September 26, 2024, to engage stakeholders in electrifying public institutions like schools and health facilities in Nigeria.
