Gambia declares public holiday for 60th independence anniversary

The Gambian government has announced that Tuesday, February 18, 2025, will be a public holiday. This decision was made by President Adama Barrow under the authority granted to him by Section 76 of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia. The day will mark the nation's 60th Independence Day Anniversary.

President Barrow extended his well-wishes to the citizens of The Gambia, stating: "The President seizes the opportunity to wish Gambians a happy Diamond Jubilee as we continue our journey to Self-Reliance and National Development."

This declaration is intended to allow citizens to celebrate this significant milestone in the country's history.
