His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio have arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.
Upon their arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, they were welcomed by Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Girma Amente, representing Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
During this summit, President Bio is set to engage in various high-level meetings. These include the APRM High-Level Presidential Breakfast on establishing the Africa Credit Rating Agency and attending both the 34th Ordinary Session of the APRM Forum and the African Union Peace and Security Council Meeting at a leadership level.
President Bio will also update fellow leaders on outcomes from the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Committee of Ten (C-10) held in Algeria and discuss ongoing reforms within the United Nations Security Council. Additionally, he plans to present the 25th Report of C-10 for review by the Assembly.
In addition to these diplomatic activities, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed will host an official dinner for President Bio, First Lady Fatima, and other visiting leaders.
