Students from Crest International Schools in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, visited the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja as part of an educational excursion. The Grade 5 students were accompanied by their teachers, Mrs. Benssie and Mr. Stephen, and received a warm welcome at the ECOWAS Training Center.
Mrs. Kete Gills-Harry, Principal Program Officer for Career Management and Training, addressed the students with a presentation on ECOWAS's history, achievements, and contributions to regional integration in West Africa. Her session provided insights into the organization's role in fostering unity among member states.
During their visit, the students explored the ECOWAS Library and received books about the organization’s accomplishments and policies to enhance their understanding of its mission. They also toured the Commission’s main building and conference hall where significant regional decisions are made.
The visit offered practical learning that complemented classroom studies on regional organizations. Crest International Schools expressed gratitude to the ECOWAS Commission for their hospitality and dedication to educating future generations about regional cooperation.
