Zenith Bank Plc has been honored with the titles of 'Bank of the Year' and 'Retail Bank of the Year' at the Businessday Banks and Other Financial Institutions’ (BAFI) Awards 2024. This marks the second consecutive year that Zenith Bank has secured the 'Bank of the Year' award, which was presented during a ceremony at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on October 25, 2024.
The BAFI Awards are recognized as a standard for excellence within Nigeria's financial services sector. They celebrate organizations, teams, and individuals who demonstrate outstanding service delivery across various client and customer categories.
Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, expressed gratitude for these recognitions: “We are deeply honoured to be recognised as ‘Bank of the Year’ and ‘Retail Bank of the Year’ at the BAFI Awards 2024. These recognitions attest to our strategic focus on customer satisfaction, sustainable growth and innovation." Zenith Bank’s consistent performance continues to earn it numerous accolades. It has been named Number One Bank in Nigeria by Tier-1 Capital for 15 consecutive years in The Banker Magazine's Top 1000 World Banks Ranking. The bank also received awards such as Bank of the Year (Nigeria) in The Banker’s awards for 2020 and 2022; Most Sustainable Bank in Nigeria in both 2023 and 2024 from International Banker Banking Awards.
Additional honors include being named Best Bank in Nigeria four times between 2020-2022 and again in 2024 by Global Finance World’s Best Banks Awards; Best Commercial Bank in Nigeria from 2021-2024 by World Finance Banking Awards; Best Corporate Governance Bank in Nigeria from 2022-2024 by World Finance Corporate Governance Awards; and 'Best in Corporate Governance’ Financial Services Africa from Ethical Boardroom between 2020-2023.
The bank was also recognized as Most Valuable Banking Brand in Nigeria by The Banker Magazine Top 500 Banking Brands for both 2020 and 2021. Furthermore, it was awarded Retail Bank of the Year from BusinessDay BAFI Awards from 2020-2022 among other accolades including Best Commercial Bank in Nigeria by International Banker in its Banking Awards for multiple years.
