South Korean delegation discusses cooperation with President Julius Maada Bio

A high-level delegation from South Korea visited President Julius Maada Bio at State House in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on November 11, 2024. The visit aimed to discuss and explore potential areas of cooperation between the two countries. The discussions focused on sectors such as energy, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, health, and vocational training.

Both parties expressed a commitment to strengthening Government-to-Government relations. They discussed leveraging South Korea's expertise in technology and industrialization to aid Sierra Leone's socio-economic development. During the meeting, President Bio announced the appointment of Mr. Sung Jun Kim as Sierra Leone’s Special Envoy for Trade and Investment to South Korea. President Bio highlighted the importance of this role in promoting trade and investment between the two nations. Mr. Kim responded by expressing his gratitude: “I really appreciate your trust in me, and I will do my best to achieve your dream for developing Sierra Leone.”

The visit underscores President Bio's dedication to fostering international partnerships for sustainable development in Sierra Leone. The discussions concluded with optimism for future engagements and a shared goal of building a beneficial relationship between Sierra Leone and South Korea.
