President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia has commenced a four-day working visit to Sierra Leone. The visit, which began on November 18, is at the invitation of President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone and will conclude on November 21, 2024.
The primary focus of President Boakai's visit is to engage in strategic discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing regional cooperation within the Mano River Union framework. This initiative underscores Liberia's commitment to deepening partnerships and fostering economic, social, and political collaboration in the region.
Accompanying President Boakai are key government officials including Foreign Minister Honorable Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah, Information Minister Honorable Jerolimek M. Piah, and Senior Advisor Dr. Augustine Konneh. Also part of the delegation are National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods, Director General of the Cabinet Nathaniel Kwabo, as well as Economic Advisors Sahr Johnny and Morley Kamara. Members from the President’s media and communication team along with his personal staffers are also present.
In President Boakai's absence from Liberia, Honorable Samuel A. Stevquoah, Minister of State Without Portfolio for Special Services, will chair the Cabinet in consultation with the Vice President. He will maintain direct communication with President Boakai to oversee urgent matters and ensure smooth governmental operations during this period.
