President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. of Liberia has announced several new appointments to key government committees and institutions. The appointments include members for the Liberia National Rubber Pricing Committee, the Council Members of the Agricultural & Industrial Training Bureau (AITB), and the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Vocational Training Institute (MVTI).
The Liberia National Rubber Pricing Committee will be chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture, with co-chair responsibilities assigned to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Other members include representatives from various ministries such as Finance and Development Planning, Justice, and organizations like Firestone Natural Rubber Company.
The AITB's council will be led by a chairman from the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning. Statutory members come from multiple ministries including Justice, Education, Public Works, Commerce, Transportation, Labor, Youth & Sports. Additional representation is provided by entities like the Liberia Chamber of Commerce and China Union.
For MVTI's Board of Trustees, leadership roles are filled by officials such as the President of William V.S. Tubman University as Chair and a Co-Chair from Technical and Vocational Education and Training. The board also includes Senator J. Gbleh-bo Brown and Representative Anthony F. Williams among others.
These appointments are effective immediately.
President Boakai emphasized his expectations for these officials to uphold "diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism," along with "loyalty in service to country."
