Since May of the previous year, the Environment, Natural Resources, and Planning Portfolio (ENRP) faced a shortage of professional veterinary services in their Veterinary and Livestock Section. This was primarily due to the absence of a Senior Veterinary Officer.
On February 24, 2024, Andrew Cant arrived on St Helena to assume the role of Senior Veterinary Officer under a two-year contract. Consequently, full veterinary and livestock services are now restored for public access.
