His Eminence Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubarkar III praised General Gowon's exceptional longevity and wisdom, stating that few countries have such leaders who live long with full consciousness and insight.

Senator Dr. George Akume conveyed President Tinubu's congratulations to General Gowon for his service to Nigeria as a gentleman extraordinaire.

General Olusegun Obasanjo emphasized celebrating General Gowon while he is still alive: “This is a national celebration, and you are worthy of being celebrated while you’re still with us.”

Former military President General Ibrahim Babangida commended Gowon's commitment to Nigeria's unity: “I will continue to pray for him... The younger generation should learn from his life story.”

Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan lauded Gowon's leadership during Nigeria’s civil war for maintaining unity.

Dr. Bukola Saraki described him as a humble statesman deserving recognition for his leadership qualities.

Professor Jerry Gana thanked ECOWAS for hosting the event successfully at its headquarters.

When completed, Lagos to Abidjan corridor highway will enhance transport connections from Nigeria into West Africa.”

In conclusion, General Gowon expressed gratitude towards H.E. Omar Alieu Touray for hosting the lecture: “I want to specially thank...for freely giving us the use of the Commission’s facilities.”
