Liberian president honors late centenarian Alhaji Amadu Sheriff

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia visited the family of the late Alhaji Amadu Sheriff, a centenarian, in Chocolate City to offer condolences and show support. The President shared his personal connection with Sheriff, describing him as a friend, brother, and statesman who significantly contributed to both his community and the nation.

Reflecting on Sheriff's life, President Boakai praised him as a source of strength and wisdom. He noted Sherif's commitment to Liberia's progress and welfare throughout his long life. “Alhaji Sheriff was more than a friend to me; he was a brother. His dedication to his community and his nation has left an indelible mark that will be remembered for generations,” stated President Boakai.

The President expressed deep sympathy to Sheriff's family and assured them of national support during this time. He encouraged Liberians to honor Sherif's memory by embracing unity, service, and dedication—values that defined Sherif's life. “In celebrating the life of this great man, let us commit ourselves to the ideals he stood for—a vision of a stronger, more united Liberia,” concluded President Boakai.

The Government of Liberia also extended its condolences to Sherif's family, the Muslim Community, and all who knew him. His service will be remembered in Liberia’s history.
