Sierra Leone's president receives foreign policy association medal

The United States Foreign Policy Association has awarded the Foreign Policy Association Medal to President Dr. Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone. The presentation took place during the World Leadership Forum Dinner on September 26, 2024.

In his acceptance speech, President Bio expressed gratitude for the recognition. He emphasized the importance of global cooperation and peacebuilding efforts. "This medal is not just a personal honor," he stated, "but a testament to the collective achievements of Sierra Leone in fostering peace and development."

Earlier in the week, on September 24, 2024, President Bio addressed the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. In his speech at this significant international platform, he reiterated his commitment to sustainable development and international collaboration.

The Foreign Policy Association Medal is awarded to individuals who have made substantial contributions to international relations and diplomacy. This year’s award recognizes President Bio's efforts in promoting peace and stability both within Sierra Leone and globally.
