The Provisional Register of Electors was made public on Friday, May 10, 2024. Those eligible have until 16:00 on Friday, May 24, 2024, to submit applications for amendments to the Provisional Register.

Eligible individuals can apply to make changes to the Provisional Register. These amendments can include adding or removing their name or removing the name of someone who has died, left the island, or is no longer eligible for inclusion in the register.

The Registration Officer aims to publish a register that is as accurate and current as possible. To achieve this, eligible individuals can apply to update any outdated personal details. For instance, they may have changed their name since they last applied to be included on the register or may now live in a different electoral district and would like to change their address.

Amendments can also be made to enable voting in a different district from one's residence. For example, an eligible person living in Longwood and working in Jamestown may find it more convenient to vote in Jamestown during work hours. The register can accommodate such requests if an application is made.

To be eligible for registration, individuals must possess St Helenian Status as defined in the Immigration Ordinance, 2011 and must be at least 17 years old with St Helena as their ordinary place of residence.

The register has been published on the SHG website and hard copies are available at several locations including the office of the Registration Officer at the Castle, Customer Service Centre and Public Library in Jamestown, and ENRP Offices in Scotland.

Assistant Registration Officers will also have access to a copy of the Provisional Register and can assist those who require help. Applications to amend the Register using 'Form A' must be submitted by no later than 16:00 on Friday, May 24, 2024. Form A is accessible at Castle Reception, Public Library and Customer Services Centre.

Eligible individuals currently overseas who wish to apply for inclusion in the register must use 'Form B'. Both forms can be accessed on the SHG website.

For more information about registering and making amendments, contact Registration Officer Carol Henry at the Castle, by telephone on 22470 or via email at carol.henry@sainthelena.gov.sh.

The final Register of Electors for the 12-month period commencing July 1, 2024, will be published towards the end of June.
