MTN Group picks ItsOn for digital delivery starting in South Africa

ItsOn, an award-winning Redwood City, Calif., telecom enterprise, recently entered into an agreement with MTN Group to drive subscribers and revenue via its ItsOn cloud-based services.

Africa's largest mobile operator MTN will launch ItsOn's technology beginning in South Africa, with expansion to other countries planned in the future. ItsOn provides clients with a device application plus cloud service for e-commerce and payment methods, loyalty programs and marketing strategies.

ItsOn's platform provides an end-to-end cloud-based SaaS solution, overcoming traditional barriers such as time-consuming procedures and expensive cost structures to permit quicker digital transformation of mobile operator standards.

"As we expand into emerging markets, we're seeing an untapped base of new smartphone users with a growing appetite for new services and digital content," Albert Fernandez, MTN’s group chief consumer officer, said. "We want to make it easier for our customers to access these services and content, act on contextual offers and purchase new goods directly from their device. We believe ItsOn's platform is the best solution for this need on the market today."

With the new agreement, ItsOn anticipates serving the "next billion" users of the Internet.

"Our mission at ItsOn is to help our mobile operator customers create, market and sell new products and services through an enjoyable, instant mobile experience that connects the next billion Internet users," ItsOn founder and CEO Greg Raleigh said. "We're proud to be working with MTN and we are honored that they have chosen our technology to power their vision for a digital on-ramp of new services for their users."

The MTN Group serves 233 million subscribers in 22 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
