Energy industry leaders from throughout the U.S. and Africa will gather Jan. 27-29 in Washington, D.C., for the second annual Powering Africa: Summit.
ā 'PA:S' is a valuable platform as it enables dialogue between key stakeholders and developers, chiefly heads of African utilities, U.S.-based private-equity houses and wealth-management establishments,ā program manager Veronica Bolton-Smith said.
The summit is a central place for investors, project developers, government officials and representatives of utility companies to gather and discuss practices and strategies. Speakers will provide updates on power and infrastructure projects that are underway, including the South African Gas IPP program.
Several workshops also will be offered.
Confirmed speakers include Andy Herscowitz, coordinator of Power Africa and Trade Africa; William Amuna of Ghana's GRIDco; Hippolyte Ebagnitchie, director general of ANARE in Ivory Coast; and Karen Breytenbach, head of the IPP Office at South Africa's Department of Energy.
More information on the summit, including a full agenda, can be found online at www.PoweringAfrica-Summit.com.
