MTN Business recently began offering Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, a service that provides businesses with access to network and cloud services, to its Africa-based clientele.
MTN customers can use Azure ExpressRoute for access to a security-enhanced, SLA-backed network connection to Microsoft Azure. The service will also give customers connectivity access to additional services on its platform.
“Through Azure ExpressRoute, our customers can experience a managed network service with the same reliability, manageability and security they would have when using a private network,"
MTN Products and Services and Group Enterprise Business Unit General Manager Debbie Minnaar told West Africa News. "Customers will benefit from better quality of service and will be able to access services via the Cloud as well as share data sets between the MTN Business Cloud and Azure, for a hybrid cloud experience,”
And since
Azure ExpressRoute, which leverages
MTN’s Global Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, doesn't use the public Internet, it is able to provide customers with a consistent experience at faster speeds and with greater security.
MTN customers in Uganda, Nigeria, the Ivory Coast, Ghana, South Africa and Cyprus have immediate access to ExpressRoute, while other countries will have the offering rolled out in the coming months.
