Raphael Afaedor wants to make life easier for households in West Africa by offering one-stop-shopping for groceries online through Supermart.ng.
Speaking at the 2015 SME conference organized by the Lagos Business School in Nigeria, the CEO of Supermart.ng said the typical woman in Lagos, Nigeria has to make her way through the city's daunting traffic and go to multiple grocery stores to find everything on her shopping list.
Partnering with leading supermarkets around the African subcontinent as well as smaller local shops, Afaedor said Supermart.ng offers more than 60,000 grocery items online including fresh food, foreign products, Nigerian ingredients, general groceries and baby products.
“Within 10 to 15 minutes, an average customer is done with her shopping on Supermart.ng, and the items will be delivered to them in as early as three hours," Afaedor said. "This saves them about three to six hours of their time, which they can invest in more profitable things like resting, reading or enjoying leisure with their spouses or children."
