Liberian president pays tribute at funeral for late superintendent

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai led government officials to Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, to pay tribute to the late Julia K. Bono, Superintendent of Grand Bassa County. The state funeral service highlighted her contributions and dedication to public service.

President Boakai honored Superintendent Bono as "a selfless leader whose dedication to her County and country exemplified true service to humanity." He encouraged the bereaved family to remain united, emphasizing solidarity as essential for preserving her legacy.

“Superintendent Bono always prioritized the well-being of others, putting service above self. She envisioned a Grand Bassa where development and unity thrived. Her unwavering commitment to the people will forever remain an inspiration,” stated President Boakai.

Reflecting on his interactions with Superintendent Bono, President Boakai noted her role in fostering collaboration and advancing development in Grand Bassa County and Liberia. He urged residents to uphold the virtues of unity that she championed.

“Bassa is a place with a loving heart,” remarked the President, adding that division should be avoided in honoring their shared patrimony. He emphasized that fostering unity would be a significant tribute to her memory.

Superintendent Julia K. Bono was remembered for her distinguished service and leadership in Grand Bassa County. Her contributions were valued by both the Unity Party and the Government of Liberia.
