Abidjan to host inaugural West African Festival of Arts and Culture

The inaugural West African Festival of Arts and Culture (ECOFEST) is set to take place from 21st to 28th September 2024 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The festival is being organized by the Commissions of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), in collaboration with the Ivoirian Ministry of Culture and Francophonie.

The theme for ECOFEST 2024 is 'Culture, a catalyst for peace, diversity, economic and social integration in West Africa'. This event aims to herald a new chapter in celebrating West African cultural diversity and underscore the role of culture as a key driver for integration, social cohesion, and socio-economic and cultural development within the West African sub-region.

Furthermore, ECOFEST will serve as a platform to engage both public and private stakeholders in the cultural sector for promoting the vast cultural wealth within the Sub-region.
