Sage Foundation is teaming up with Nigerian non-profit organization Sesôr Africa to refurbish Strides Towers College's school library.
Sesôr Africa provides relief and rehabilitation services to survivors of emergencies, which in this case involves 30 children at the Lagos-based educational facility.
"Sesôr and our educational partner, Mend a Life Initiative, are proud to work with Sage Foundation," Sesôr Executive Director Ier Jonathan-Ichaver said. "We are glad that disadvantaged children at this school will have the resources they need for a quality education. It is especially inspiring to see the Sage Team interacting with the children – this gives them a boost money cannot buy."
The Sage Foundation helps create social and economic opportunities in communities around the world by giving them time, money, expertise and technology. As part of the refurbishing project, Sage volunteers will assist in painting and redecorating the library as well as supplying it with educational materials, including books.
"We believe in a socially responsible world and in playing a positive role in societies," Sage Foundation Chairman Ivan Epstein said. "Focusing on education is one way that we can make a real impact. We hope that the library at Strides Towers College will help the children to prepare themselves for a bright future."
