Africa is an advanced continent in many ways, but there are still disparities between the standards of business between the Western world and West Africa.
Options are being explored within businesses in Africa as to how processes can be simplified and managed more efficiently.
According to Dr. Rutendo Hwindingwi, the divisional director of Sage East and West Africa, West African countries have much to gain from shifting to electronic bookkeeping and record-keeping.
"Implementing modern, integrated solutions can help African organisations comply more easily with tax and labour laws, increase efficiencies and gain more control over their business processes," Hwindingwi said, pointing out that many companies in Nigeria still complete processes manually.
The benefits of making the switch are many, with better planning and forecasting a reality, since companies will have data that can give them a clear course of action.
Another benefit is that the electronic processes can reduce the level of human error. It also would result in less work for already busy HR employees and more immediate information and data for managers and directors of companies.
Dr. Hwindingwi concluded his discussion, saying, "Integrated business solutions take care of the basics so that entrepreneurs and business managers can focus on strategy and growth."
