Nigerian Breweries Plc has partnered with the Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) to empower 1,000 youth and women across Nigeria through skills development. This initiative aligns with the company's commitment to socio-economic development in Nigerian communities.

Participants from 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory were trained in various skill areas, including solar panel installations, tailoring, leatherworks, hairdressing, phone repair, cap and wig making, and electrical installation.

At the graduation ceremony held in Lagos on November 25, 2023, Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, emphasized that the initiative not only provided training but also established a foundation for a skilled workforce. He encouraged participants to continue seeking knowledge and facing new challenges.

Dr. Afiz Ogun, Director General of ITF, highlighted that this partnership is part of ITF's efforts to support skills training for economic growth. He urged beneficiaries to use their acquired skills and start-up packs for self-sufficiency and national development.

Sade Morgan, Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries Plc, explained that partnering with ITF was intended to help bridge the unemployment gap caused by a lack of technical skills. Morgan noted that the graduation marks three transformative months for these individuals who are now ready to enter the entrepreneurial world.

Since its inception in 2019, the Youth Empowerment Programme has benefited 2,365 youth and women across Nigeria.
