The 300-level International Relations students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, visited the ECOWAS Liaison Office in Lagos on June 5, 2024. This visit was part of their curriculum and a significant step towards earning a BSc degree in International Relations.

Their visit aligned with their 2024 field trip theme titled "Military Intervention in Politics and the Future of Democracy in West Africa." The Liaison Office, recognizing the importance of this academic journey, took the opportunity to educate the students on the crucial role played by the ECOWAS Commission in fostering economic, social, and political integration, stability, and development in the sub-region.

A paper presented by the Liaison Office highlighted ECOWAS's efforts in curbing military intervention and promoting democracy in West Africa.
