Officials of Canadian mining and exploration company Sarama Resources Ltd. recently released revised mineral resource estimates for one of its projects in the West African nation of Burkina Faso.
An 87 percent increase in the oxide component of inferred mineral resources was found at the South Hounde Gold Project, and a 40 percent increase was found in total inferred mineral resources.
These increases were significant, representing total modeled gold representation. The mineralization was found at a strike length of more than 10 kilometers in the mine's Tankoro Structural Corridor.
Sarama Resources' gold mine exploration projects are focused in West Africa, mainly in Burkina Faso. The South Hounde mine, located in Burkina Faso's greenstone belt, is the company's flagship project;
Acacia Mining provided $14 million to fund exploration there in November 2014.
Sarama also oversess the Karankasso Project in Burkina Faso.
