News magazine the Economist will hold its 11th annual Nigeria Summit from March 7 to March 8 at the InterContinental Hotel in Lagos.
The event will look into the economic and social progress made by the West African nation, including the past nine months under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. Discussions will also be held on the opportunities and challenges currently facing Nigeria and how they will shape the country for years to come.
“This year’s Nigeria Summit will bring together more than 350 participants drawn from different walks of life including Nigeria’s public and private sectors, international business players and investors for a discussion on what the future holds for Nigeria,” Jonathan Rosenthal, Africa editor at the Economist, said.
Summit speakers will include Access Bank CEO Herbert Wigwe, Dangote Group President and CEO Alhaji Dangote, Verod Capital Managing Director Danladi Verheijen, IMANI Center for Policy & Education Founder Franklin Cudjoe, Atlas Merchant Capital Founder and CEO Bob Diamond, Red Media Co-Founder Adebola Williams, Barclays Africa Group Investment Banking Head Philip Lindop, IHS Towers CEO Issam Darwish, Hygeia Group Chairman Fola Laoye, PharmAccess Group CEO Onno Schellekens and Erisco Foods Limited CEO Eric Umeofia.
Government officials to be in attendance are Nigeria Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano and Nigeria Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Okechukwu Enelamah.
