HM Customs and Immigration Services will undergo specialized training over the next six weeks as part of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) Migrant Agreement Memorandum of Understanding. This essential training will affect the department's opening hours, which will be adjusted weekly.
For the week starting May 12, 2025, the office hours are set as follows: Monday from 09:00 to 15:00 for businesses and individuals handling items or shipments; Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 to 15:00 for similar services; while Wednesday and Thursday, the offices will remain closed.
During this period, there will be no reception desk service, limited email access for staff, and slower cashier services, potentially causing delays. Additionally, offices will close daily for a lunch break between 13:00 and 13:30.
"We appreciate your understanding and patience as we invest in the professional development of our team to fulfil the requirements of this important agreement," stated HM Customs and Immigration. The revised weekly opening hours will be communicated regularly.
