President of Sierra Leone Attends 15th Organisation of Islamic Conference in The Gambia

His Excellency Dr Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, participated in the 15th Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) held in Banjul, Republic of The Gambia on May 4, 2024. During the event, President Bio delivered a statement where he expressed his thoughts on various issues.

President Bio stated, "I am pleased to be part of this important gathering of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, where we have the opportunity to discuss critical matters affecting our nations."

The two-day engagement of the OIC was attended by leaders from Islamic countries to address key challenges and opportunities within the region. President Bio's presence at the conference highlighted Sierra Leone's commitment to engaging with international partners on matters of mutual interest.

This event followed President Bio's recent participation in the International Development Association Heads of State summit in Nairobi, Kenya, where discussions on key priorities took place. Prior to that, in April, President Bio was involved in the signing of Performance Contracts, demonstrating his dedication to fostering accountability and good governance within his administration.

President Bio's active participation in international forums showcases Sierra Leone's commitment to collaborating with global partners to address shared challenges and work towards sustainable development goals.
