Monrovia, Liberia - Princess Fatu Gayflor, a prominent cultural figure in Liberia, met with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on April 2nd at the Executive Mansion. The meeting was an opportunity for Gayflor to congratulate the President on his election and express her support for his administration's focus on culture and tourism.
During their discussion, Gayflor voiced her concerns about the current state of cultural promotion in Liberia. She highlighted her disappointment over the demolition of the Kendeja Cultural Village, which had been slated for relocation and reconstruction. She stressed the need for more efforts to promote Liberian culture and enhance its tourism sector.
President Boakai expressed gratitude towards Gayflor for her dedication to promoting Liberia's image. He emphasized the significance of Liberians embracing their cultural heritage and encouraged Gayflor to continue advocating for traditional values and practices.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Liberia's cultural assets and strengthening its hospitality industry.
Princess Fatu Gayflor was accompanied by Mr. Kekura M. Kamara, known as Malawala-Balawala from the Flomo Theater Show, and Mr. Kollie N. Ballah, son of Peter Ballah (Flomo) from the Peter Ballah Show.
