The steering committee for AFRITAC West 2 met in Gambia on Tuesday.
AFRITAC West 2 is one of five International Monetary Fund economic (IMF) assistance centers in sub-Saharan Africa overseen by the IMF. Each center provides its area with technical assistance and training to help local officials and organizations develop the local economy and economic policy.
At this latest gathering, AFRITAC West 2 officials reviewed the center's achievement from the past year, which, officials said, included the establishment of The Gambia Revenue Authority.
In 2016, AFRITAC West 2 plans to focus on improvements in Sierra Leone and Liberia, focusing particularly on improving the movement of revenues and the management of public money.
