Roxgold Inc. announced Monday that Burkina Faso's minister of mines, Alfa Oumar Dissa, approved Roxgold’s acquisition of the Houko permit from Daritos or SARL.
The Houko permit will fall under Roxgold’s wholly owned subsidiary Roxgold Exploration SARL. The permit, which is located next to the company's Yaramoko permit, adds roughly 30 kilometers of prospective Boni Shear exposure and brings Roxgold’s Hounde land position to an estimated 196 kilometers.
"We are delighted to be able to bolster our position on the Hounde Belt with an additional 29 km2 of exposure along the regionally important Boni Shear Zone,” Ben Pullinger, Roxgold vice president of Exploration, said. "The Houko Permit's proximity to the high grade 55 Zone makes it an ideal candidate for fieldwork later this year."
The company will pay Daritos roughly $67,000 for the Houko acquisition.
Roxgold is a gold exploration and development company. Its main asset, the high grade Yaramoko Gold Project, is located in Burkina Faso’s Hounde greenstone region.
