Orange and Google announced a new partnership to offer mobile Internet access across all areas covered by Orange's Middle East and Africa (Orange MEA) footprint.
With the combined strengths of Orange’s mobile network and Google’s mobile applications, the partnership will offer customers an all-inclusive digital communications package adapted to youth and others that desire the latest smartphone technology and use a lot of mobile data.
Pricing will begin at $40, including a smartphone and communications bundle with voice and texting services as well as a data package. The new offering will begin roll out in the second quarter of this year.
“As the first pan-Africa and Middle East mobile partnership with Google on this scale, we are able to bring direct value to our customers by offering the best access and services to ensure they get the most out of the mobile internet,” Yves Maitre, executive vice president of Connected Objects and Partnerships, Orange, said. “Through this all-inclusive digital communications package, we are proud to continue our promise to deliver affordable internet access across the region and connect people to what is essential in their lives.”
