Gold developer West African Resources Limited reported significant findings Friday on its Burkina Faso prospecting.
“TAC1166 returned a strong result of 16m at 2.3g/t Au from surface, including 8m at 4g/t Au at the M3 eastern zone, confirming continuity of shallow oxide mineralization,” Richard Hyde, West African Resources Limited managing director, said. “Gold mineralization at M3 is located less than 2km from the proposed heap leach starter pit at M5. Follow-up drilling is in progress.”
Recent drilling extended shallow oxide gold mineralization at the M3 eastern zone. Follow-up drilling confirmed continuity of gold mineralization in the area. It is expected that oxide mineralization from M1 and M3 will continue to display similar metallurgical characteristics to M5 oxides and be amenable to heap leach processing. Follow-up drilling will continue in 2016.
Having completed an updated Pre-Feasibility Study in 2015 for an oxide heap leach starter project on its Burkina Faso Mankarga 5 Gold Project, West African Resources Limited is optimistic about 2016 production.
