Togo, U.S. agreement to allow for more flights between countries
The document, signed by U.S. Ambassador Robert Whitehead and Togolese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Robert Dussey, assures that airlines from both countries can fly to any point of U.S. or Togo territory.
“This historic agreement represents an important step forward in the United States’ government’s goal to improve the investment climate and support economic development in Togo", highlighted Whitehead. "It will provide for more open air routes, liberal charter rules, and expanded rights vis-à-vis air cargo between our two countries."
The agreement, meant to reinforce U.S. efforts to support the development in the region, has been in the works since 2012 and is the first of its kind to established between the two countries.
