The Dubai Chamber of Commerce is calling for increased trade between with South Africa.
Dubai Chamber Chairman Majid Saif Al Ghurair recently spoke to a gathering of public and private officials on trade issues.
“Our very presence here is to get precise and accurate information about
the methods and procedures for doing business in South Africa and to
understand the prevailing laws and regulations pertaining to taxes,
arable land ownership, money movement, and to find out the most
important investment sectors as well as to support reciprocal trade flow
between the two countries," Ghurair said.
Ghurair also met with Standard Bank Group
executives who hope to act as a financial facilitator between Dubai and its South African trading partners, as well as leaders from the South African Chamber of Commerce. The conversations centered specifically on South Africa's mining, agriculture, energy and tourism industries.
The meeting broke with both sides agreeing to continue exploring ways to work together.
